Peanut butter.

I have been meaning to make peanut butter for quite some time, so I decided it was a great way to procrastinate my final assignment for the semester. I also discovered this great food blog earlier this week which had a simple bread recipe that tasted delicious with the peanut butter. Spectacular midnight feast.

Music, herbs and yoga… glamping.
Glamping.

I just spent the most incredible week in the desert and I am sure you will see many pictures of what was experienced in the public domaine. But a large part of why my experience every year is so incredible, is the ‘glamp’ in which I stay. I am very lucky to be a part of a wonderful group of people who come together to put together a luxurious camp, filled with delicious food. These are some of the salads from the feasts we shared.
Mobile herb garden update.

The mobile herb garden is finally coming together! I have painted it to protect it from rust, covered the bottom in artificial grass, and painted all of the pots green. (The row of plants in the front will be moved to the back).

This weekend I am going to, with the help of some friends, sew the bunting and the canopy and finish the seed bombs we will be giving away.

I am busy building a mobile herb garden for Afrika Burn… well it has turned into more of a bicycle drawn carriage decorated with herbs. I want to test how the plants respond to the drive up to the Karoo, and how they survive in the desert. If all goes well I could be planning something much bigger next year.
I have never worked with metal before, so it was quite a challenge / frightening. I don’t do the welding, Freddy does, but I have been cutting and grinding and ‘cleaning’ all of the parts, which he then assembles. I am excited to finish it next Monday and see how I can incorporate all of the herbs I have been growing.

The first supper.

I moved into a new place in February this year, and we have not had the time or energy to have a proper dinner. The need to use my eggs before they expire inspired our first supper, I half heartedly used Ottolenghi’s ‘Shakshuka’ recipe for them.
